It had been a few days since... the incident. Seiya and her friends were able to save Miho, however, there'd been some emotional side effects. Well, and physical. Seated behind the Yamada Mart counter, it was her first day back in the saddle after the whole ordeal. Mr. Yamada had somehow had a miraculous moment of compassion and let his daughter stay home for about four days. Now that her little mini vacation was up, the girl was expected to be bright eyed and bushy tailed for a while.
Still, despite the expectations put on her, Seiya couldn't help but feel down. Self-consciously tugging at her now stubby pony tail, the girl reflected on what she'd told Greg about her hair. How important it was to her, and how it was the one thing in her life that she could control. Oh well. Win some and lose some. Propping her feet up on the counter, she opened a magazine, deciding to lose herself in the lives of celebrities for a while.

((Sorry about the length of that! This is going to be a little bit different, because I plan to lead y'all through a short little dungeon. You'll be fightan shadows and stuff! I might even throw in asking for some dice rolls for little random things to happen – if it works out, it should be pretty fun!))

Apr. 22nd, 2012 10:17 pmThere were some days when Simon Wallace had to take a step back to detach himself from the waking world. It helped the lone boy with his new environment as well as deal with those nagging feelings of anxiety, sadness, boredom & loneliness. It was tough & he wasn't going to lie, he missed his family back home in New York. He missed his father's humble clumsiness in the kitchen, the sound of the chatter of his siblings & the feeling of his dear younger brother snuggling up against him on the couch. Here in Japan, he had none of that.
Some days when he wasn't studying, at a swim meet, or avoiding any sort of means of having a social life, Simon visited one of the town's parks. When the weather was pleasant enough he would find a spot desolate of other people & simply laid down on the grass. Hands were neatly folded over his stomach & his eyelids slowly fell to a close. Soon he began to disconnect, the world around him became dark, black & then his mind left him.

It had been a few days since Seiya had been released from the hospital. Sitting outside Yamada Mart, she flipped through the images Greg had shown her a week prior. Mirror Mirror, huh? If there had been doubts about the connections between the crime and the paranormal world, this erased them. Unfortunately, they couldn't just run to a police station and spill their story. As it was, Seiya doubted her friends would even believe her, had they not seen it with their own eyes.
Normally on her break she would venture out for some air. Today, however, Seiya remained on the bench outside her father's store, wrapped up in the mystery surrounding her life. Setting the gruesome images aside, she propped her feet up on the empty side of the seat, watching people come and go. A lazy day indeed.
(Let's say this is before the current Shadow Kota battle. c: )
April 16th
Apr. 20th, 2012 07:22 am‘Tell Mick at the entrance you’re here to see Ryo-chan, and he’ll let you in.
I’ll be on the second level. ♥’
- Hiraga
That was the note Ryoko Hiraga of the Okachi City Police Department had left with Gregory yesterday. She’d met up with him briefly to arrange a more ‘formal’ meeting. The police would be in contact with him eventually… They’d said that at the scene of the crime on the 13th of April. It was now the 15th, and they’d been true to their word. The detective had asked Greg to meet her at ‘The White Lotus’, a club in the heart of Okachi known for it’s less than stellar reputation. While it looked rather classy, the patrons generally didn’t match the décor and it was the epicenter of some highly unpleasant things.
The club consisted of two levels. The main floor had a massive bar, and an even larger dance floor (a small stage for a DJ or live band was slightly north of that). This was where most people hung out, either on the floor or seated at small tables scattered through out the club. Then there was a flight of stairs leading up to the more lounge-y second floor. Private booths lined the walls, and there were several private rooms as well. The music wasn’t quite as loud up here, but the hum of it was decidedly still audible.
Ryoko was on the second level, tucked away in her own little booth. Her messy red hair was tied back into a short pony tail, and her work clothes were a tid bit ruffled. Rather than wearing the suit jacket that went with her dress pants, she chose a dark, dark blue leather jacket (it didn’t exactly match her tie and white button up, but hey).
“Mirror, mirror, huh…?” The detective remarked to herself quietly, inhaling deeply on her cigarette in thought. One hand lifted to adjust her glasses as she exhaled a puff of smoke. “What’s this city comin’ to?” Her ‘date’ would be there any second!
In front of the Arcade...
Apr. 16th, 2012 06:13 pmEver since Miho introduced Greg to the arcade at the local mall, he's been there most weekdays after school for at least an hour or two... It ate a lot of money, sure, but it's money he would've spent on point cards for his phone at any rate.
At the moment he was just outside, though, sitting on a little bench near the entrance and fiddling with his phone for some reason or another. The boy was, as usual, paying no attention to his surroundings or anything but himself and the small piece of technology in his hands. The perpetual and unfortunately socially discouraging look of vague annoyance and great boredom was in place on his face, though he was completely free to approach for anyone not bothered by it!

It was a regular occurrence since the beginning of the school year. Every Tuesday and Thursday, Seung Mi stayed after practice to tidy up the music room. Sometimes she would even practice by herself; it wasn't uncommon for others in the hallway to hear the sound of a clarinet. Such behaviour quickly became routine for the girl. Her fellow club members admired her dedication, but the exchange student seemed to have an anti-social aura that deterred people from holding too long a conversation. Not that she minded. It was more time for work, and more time for practice.
Today, like most days, she would be the last one to leave the music room.

Apr. 12th, 2012 02:09 pmIt was lunch period at the Academy & like every day, students had free range for how they wanted to spend their time with it. Some ate outside on campus, some went to the roof, others just enjoyed spending it with their classmates & ate in their respective classroom. Simon was one o those, only instead of enjoying it with his friends & classmates he just sat in his usual seat right next to the window, wrapped up lunch sitting neatly on top of his desk.
It was much less because he felt out of place in this country & more that he was just... well, bored. Bored of this place, this school, these people, this country, this world -- this life.
For the most part Simon sat in the back of the classroom with his lunch untouched, just staring out at the window.

It's To Be Expected
Apr. 10th, 2012 01:38 pmIt was a normal reaction, really. After her nap on Miho's couch, Seiya had headed home on her own, assuring her best friend that she was fine. In reality, she was far from it. Two days later Seiya was still in bed, staring at her bandaged hand as if it was foreign. Home alone, as usual, she found herself just reading manga and playing video games. It wasn't that she was avoiding what had happened, but rather studying it. The mirror world was like a fantasy straight out of an rpg right?
Either way, she didn't expect visitors, but who knew?
"Under the weather" was at once an accurate and inaccurate way for Ren to describe herself. She had much less energy than usual, but being stubborn as ever, she refused to let it show. She attended practice even after hurting her ankle, and grumbled endlessly when the team captain forced her to sit out for her own safety. Her volunteering jobs had been stressful as well, and she found herself with less work to do and less people to help. For any other teenager this would have been a good thing, but for Ren, it was a sign that she wasn't needed.
And then the kitchen knife slipped from her hand while preparing her lunch that morning. Ren idly scratched around the bandaid on her finger during class, chewing on the inside of her cheek. For anyone who knew her well, they could tell she didn't look like herself.
... Not to mention the mirrors were driving her up the wall.
Just as the bell rang to signal the end of the day's last class, the sound stretched and echoed in Ren's head and her mind seemed to blank out. She sat there, immobile, for a good number of minutes, whilst everyone around her was already packing up.
"Hey, Miura, are you okay? You look kinda pale."
"Hm... yeah, maybe you should go to the infirmary. Or get someone to help you walk home..."
"Miura? Hey, Miura, are you listening?"
Abruptly, the girl stood from her seat, surprising those standing around her desk. Without gathering her things or even uttering a word, she turned and exited the classroom, staring blankly and dragging her feet.
She heard whispers all around her... or inside her? But she couldn't actively listen to them. She was barely conscious and it was like she didn't find anything strange about walking to an empty girls' bathroom. Once there, she turned to face the mirror, empty gaze setting on the shifting surface.

The Hell Just Happened?
Apr. 5th, 2012 10:31 amAfter texting Miho, Seiya payed for their lunch and escorted Greg to the outside of Miho's building. After all that had just transpired: the mirror, the little girl, the giant bruise, it was no wonder people were giving her a strange look. Hobbling like she'd just been in the war, Seiya leaned against the wall for support. "She should be down any minute."

Apr. 1st, 2012 04:48 pmSchool life had quickly gone back to normal since the death at the beginning of the week, and although rumors about the death and it's circumstances were circulating, most seemed to have dismissed it as an accident. A simple accident didn't quite pair up with the recent outbreak of petty crime in Okachi, though. Muggings and theft were slowly climbing to an all time high, and although it had stayed away from the academy (mostly), it was incredibly hard not to notice something fishy going on!
Miho had noticed it, definitely. Weird things had been happening. People were gossiping more than usual, and occasionally there seemed to be an almost tangible malicious atmosphere that hung around certain spots. Whatever it was, she didn't like it – but whatever it was, it was very temporarily out of her mind, because...
It was the first sunny day since school day started two weeks ago! And although it was weak sunlight, it was still better than more rain – at least, it was better than more rain in Miho Tanaka's opinion! She loved school, but it was just so dreary when the weather was bad. The occasional puffy and heavy cloud drifted by, looking ready to dump even more rain onto the campus of Eizou Academy, but so far they were lucky. Lucky enough that some of the school's outdoor clubs were confident to actually hold a meeting.
Umbrella in hand (just in case) and bag in the other, Miho was watching the girl's baseball team at one of their first practices. She didn't know much about baseball (read: anything), so whatever finesse it may have had was lost on her, but everyone seemed to be having fun, and she didn't feel like going home quite yet. None of her own clubs were having a meeting today, and she was mostly all caught up on her current studies.
One of the club members hit the ball pretty hard, so she, with a few others watching the practice, cheered loudly and put her things down to clap her hands! “Woohooo!” It looked like they'd be packing up soon, though.
((Just as a note, y'all can make your own topics too, if you want. It's all good :>b))

Mar. 29th, 2012 01:14 pmThe weather for the last several days had been rain, rain, rain, and more rain. It wasn't cold out, at least, the rainy season in Okinawa rarely was, but so much rain really could get depressing! School had only been in session for a short two weeks, and those days had been mostly cloudy and wet. In Miho's humble opinion, it was super dreary. There had been a death on campus, and although the police hadn't said if it was suicide or homicide, rumors were already heavily circulating – someone had shoved the elementary school teacher from the roof and to her untimely death. They got the day off, of course, but that was two days ago. Now it was back to school in this miserable weather.
Rumors, actually, seemed to be becoming more and more commonplace over the last few days. It was getting a little scary! Maybe that had something to do with the slightly increased crime-rate Okachi had been experiencing - although the death of elementary teacher had been the worst (if it was even homicide! Who knew if that was true or not).
Fortunately, the school day was over! Well, not fortunately to Miho, seeing as she really enjoyed her classes, but now it was either study time or go home time. She'd just exited the school, one hand on her light pink umbrella, and the other holding up a textbook (biology) to her face so she could study as she walked. Maybe she'd bump into someone on the way out? None of her clubs were meeting today. The girl tilted her head up to cast a hopeful glance around the exterior of the building, hmm.
